Shutdown Averted, Senate Votes to Approve Stopgap Spending Bill
The Senate has voted 85 to 11 to pass the stopgap spending bill approved in the House earlier today and keep the government open. This is the final vote of the 118th Congress. The bill now goes to President Biden’s desk. The bill probably won’t be signed until later today but the White House, seeing that Congress was on track to approved a funding extension, has not ordered the government to shutdown.
Hopefully, the holidays just got a little brighter for all the tourism communities working to recover from the hurricanes.
