Storm Damage: Danielle Morgan, Mississippi Tourism Association
A member of our network suffered a devastating loss last night. Danielle Morgan, Executive Director of the Mississippi Tourism Association, lost her house to a fire. Danielle and her husband Brent were able to get out safely with their dogs but they literally lost everything. As this happened in the midst of a major winter storm that has left half the country shutdown, rebuilding their lives is an even bigger challenge as delays are expected in connecting with their insurance company.
A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help cover their immediate expenses — housing, clothing, dog treats — so they can begin to recover and rebuild while waiting for insurance assistance.
Danielle has been a tremendous advocate for tourism. She has served as the state advocacy chair for Mississippi for several years and has made their congressional delegation into tourism champions, particularly their Senators. Most importantly, whenever a call to action went out, Danielle answered.
I know that whatever support you can offer — whether it is a prayer, a card or a donation — will be greatly appreciated by Danielle and Brent.
Hope all of you are staying safe and warm.
